Southwest suffers technology outage; flights held at gates

OIA officials said there is a serious impact to flights due to the Southwest system issues. As of 3:40 p.m., there is a temporary ground stop for planes that have not left their gates.
By about 4 p.m. Central time, Southwest had canceled 16 flights, more than any other US carrier, and delayed about 150 others, according to tracking service FlightAware.com. "We expect to continue our move toward a normal operation but believe it will take time", Southwest Airlines wrote in a statement. "Thank you for bearing with us; we know this is inconvenient and appreciate your patience as our teams work hard to resolve this issue".
We are aware and investigating current issues with our systems.
Southwest passengers reported outages on Twitter Wednesday afternoon.
Edge might be the only browser for Netflix HD
To get around this, Microsoft will provide a free DVD playback app that can be installed after you've upgraded to Windows 10. Its latest marketing push finds Microsoft claiming that Edge is the best desktop web browser for Netflix viewing.
It's now unclear whether that flight departed for its destination.
Austin-Bergstrom International Airport says nine of their arrivals and 10 of their departures were delayed.
Earlier Wednesday, an FAA spokesman told the Dallas Morning News that Southwest had issued a ground stop due to technical problems.
