Severe Thunderstorm Watches, Warnings issued for area

Severe thunderstorms, with potentially damaging winds, will move through the region starting in late morning and continuing through mid-afternoon Monday.

A severe thunderstorm warning remains in effect until 2 p.m. for southern Wayne County.

The storm moved at 45 miles per hour and had 60 miles per hour wind gusts according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has the entire state of SC under a marginal risk of severe weather today. While less likely, large hail in excess of one inch in diameter will also be possible in the most severe storms.
